Helping Children with Autism While They’re at School

School-Based ABA Therapy Services

When a child’s full support team works together, it can make all the difference for that child and their family. At BlueSprig, we are proud to partner with school districts, public and private schools, as well as preschools and daycares in the communities we serve.

From classroom consultation to professional support, our technicians are here to collaborate with school districts to ensure better outcomes for students, teachers, and other school district professionals.

How Can ABA Therapy at School Help?

When students work with an ABA technician during their school day, they receive personalized support targeted toward their educational, social, and behavioral goals. BlueSprig BCBAs work alongside parents and teachers to create therapy plans that focus on each child’s unique needs at school, from providing academic support to encouraging social development.

School-based ABA therapy can help students with autism by breaking down daily tasks into manageable steps, offering support when practicing social interactions, and assisting with the child’s needs in the classroom. This approach helps children manage their behaviors better, interact more comfortably with their peers, and progress at their own pace.

What Do ABA Technicians Do in a School Setting?

School-based Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop individualized therapy plans that address specific behavioral issues. The goal of school-based ABA therapy is to support students in achieving success both academically and socially while improving their overall quality of life.

During school-based therapy, BCBAs direct Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), who  implement therapy plans. Therapy sessions in schools may involve one-on-one sessions with a RBT, group interventions, or classroom-wide strategies that promote positive behavior.

Virtual & Remote Learning

For students who are learning virtually,  we provide virtual or remote support to students, families, and educators with one-on-one instruction, parent support, and teacher consultation. For students who are struggling with virtual learning, we can also provide student support at our centers.

Classroom Consultations

Classroom consultation enables BlueSprig BCBAs to support teachers and school staff to improve the overall functioning of their classroom to benefit all students. Consultation topics may include classroom design, incentive and reward systems, and teaching methodologies that can help students with special needs reach their full potential.

Many students with autism require additional support to learn in a classroom setting. Our talented team of BCBAs works alongside educators to develop and support student-specific behavior and learning plans.
