Our El Paso East and West centers are now open to families covered by New Mexico Medicaid! This inclusion means access to our comprehensive services for individuals diagnosed with autism. It also opens opportunities for those considered at risk for an autism diagnosis. This begins with a thorough process involving a Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation (CDE) and an Individual Service Plan (ISP). This process is carried out by a state-approved Autism Evaluation Professional (AEP). Evaluations are just one way we ensure that our approach meets the specific needs of each individual. This pivotal development means more families can access the care they deserve, without worrying about coverage.
Early Intervention Coverage
For families with younger children who might be ‘at risk’ of autism, we have good news. New Mexico Medicaid covers time-limited ABA services for children as young as 12 months who do not meet the full criteria for autism but show developmental delays and certain characteristics of the disorder. This includes those with genetic risk factors such as an older sibling diagnosed with ASD or a diagnosis of Fragile X syndrome. This early intervention can be crucial in supporting the development and well-being of at-risk children, laying a stronger foundation for their future.
To begin this journey with BlueSprig, initial assessments can proceed without prior authorization, streamlining the process for families. All that’s necessary to start is the completion of either a CDE or an At-Risk targeted assessment. You’ll also need an ISP and a referral or recommendation for a Stage 2 ABA Assessment from an AEP. This simplified pathway means quicker access to our evidence-based, personalized ABA therapy services. Our services are for children and adults over 21, empowering them towards brighter, more fulfilling futures.
