Trumpet will present new research at the 2018 Annual Convention for the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABA-I) in San Diego.
Trumpet Behavioral Health, a nationwide network of applied behavior analysis (ABA) providers and thought leaders, will present new ABA research at the 2018 Annual Convention for the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABA-I) in San Diego on May 24-28.
The abstracts accepted for poster and oral presentations are the result of collaborative research involving Trumpet practitioners and researchers. In addition to these presentations, Paula Braga-Kenyon, Ph.D., will participate in a panel discussion on interacting with different cultures when delivering ABA therapy.
“Trumpet Behavioral Health is committed to improving the lives of children with autism and their families by providing ABA therapy and advancing the field with research.” says Ned Carlson, Trumpet Behavioral Health chief executive officer. “Trumpet has invested in a dedicated research department that is home to Ph.D.-level researchers and thought leaders who are changing the way that ABA therapy is provided around the United States.”
New ABA Research on Stimulus Equivalence, Literature Access and Instructive Feedback
In addition to Dr. Braga-Kenyon’s participation in the panel discussion, Crossing the Borders With Behavior Analysis: Barriers Encountered by Our Workforce When Interacting With Different Cultures, on May 28 at 8:00 AM, attendees will learn from the following presentations:
• Stimulus Equivalence: From Conceptual Issues to Translational Research. During this symposium on May 28 at 11:00 AM, Dr. Braga-Kenyon will discuss the work of four research groups with the focus on different dimensions of behavioral analysis as they pertain to research on stimulus equivalence. The discussion will focus on conceptual, experimental and translational research.
• A Model for Increasing Access to Literature in Human Service Agencies. Jessica Juanico, Ph.D., BCBA-D and Amber Valentino, Psy.D., BCBA-D, will describe the development of a literature request system for a large service agency and how it promotes ethical behavior. This is part of the symposium, Seeking Guidance in Clinical Practice: The Scholarly Literature and Ethics, will occur on May 26 at 11:00 AM.
• Using Instructive Feedback to Teach Untrained Operants: This poster presentation by Sarah Veazey, BCBA, and other members of the Trumpet team will highlight research conducted with a single participant that explored whether instructive feedback presented following a tact trial would aid in the acquisition of intraverbal repertoire.
